GeMainsam is off the starting line

Out with 2020 – welcome GeMainsam!

The year 2020 is drawing to a close. What a year it has been, for all of us. Among all the big and small things, what we missed most was something that has so often carried us through hard times – singing together as a group. Apart from solo performances in the shower, we were often left with nothing but video calls, through which our choir director Ana pulled us into her studio, where we were at least reunited in sound and vision.

What we have realised this year: community is incredibly important, especially when times are as turbulent as they are right now. And so we have placed our new project under exactly this banner. With “GeMainsam” we want to counter the loneliness on the Main, bring together people with the most diverse cultural backgrounds from all over Frankfurt and thereby strengthen the sense of togetherness in our city. This is made possible by the funding of the Office for Multicultural Affairs.

Together we want to sing a song in different languages and create a video. Perhaps you have already come across the teasers for the project in various places. Now we are entering the crucial phase, and for that we need you: only together can we create something great here.

The song we will be singing is “Wie Sand” by Leontina feat. Namika, in a special, multilingual version.
