How it all began

Terz e.V. was founded in late 2015 – just a few months after Mareike and Helen had started a small student choir in Frankfurt. The original 10 founding members soon tripled – these days we’re around 30 people aged roughly 18 to 40. Most are students, trainees or young professionals – but we’re just as happy about younger and older voices. What matters is that we sing together.

For many years, Ana Batistic led the choir musically and played a big part in its steady growth. Since 2025, Bernd Winter has led the choir, carrying it on with great energy and commitment.

Membership

Anyone who supports our statutes can join. The fee is tiered – you pick the level that suits you. That keeps the entry affordable for everyone, while those who can give more support the choir with a higher tier.

Fees are collected quarterly in advance by direct debit; you’ll get everything you need to know before joining – just ask us.

Joining isn’t a prerequisite for singing: after up to three trial rehearsals, you decide at your own pace whether to stay on as a member. And if you’d like to support the choir without singing yourself, you can become a supporting member – from 10 € a month.
